Worship

AngelWe worship on Sundays at 9:00 a.m. in a liturgical style, meaning we follow a traditional order of service. The liturgy helps us focus on God as we confess our sins, receive His forgiveness, pray, praise, give thanks, and hear in the reading of the Bible what God has done and continues to do for us today. We celebrate the Lord's Supper weekly and believe in the words of our Lord; namely, "this is my body... this is my blood," (Christ is truly present in the sacrament-not symbolically) and "given and shed to forgive your sins." The Lord's Supper is offered to repentant sinners who desire to be forgiven and be part of our fellowship. Lutherans love to sing, so music is an important element in our worship. We have a fine choir, several beautiful solo voices and a host of people who play musical instruments.

On 5th Sundays, we take a break from our traditional service with an alternative style of worship.  These services include upbeat music, a more interactive format, skits, with lessons and songs projected on-screen.  A committee of members works with out pastor to plan these special services and always welcomes ideas for creative expressions of worship.

Special Seasonal Services

In the course of the year we also worship on days other than Sunday: Christmas Eve, midweek Lent (40 days prior to Easter), Thanksgiving and other feast days.. At Christmastime, our Sunday School leads us in worship, and on Christmas Eve we have a Family Service and a Candlelight Service at 11pm. During the summer, we join several other churches to picnic and Worship in the Park. Come September, we have a worship service on the Zuber Farm, which includes a hay ride to a scenic hilltop where we worship under the sky, followed by an old-fashioned picnic in the barn.
